I support clients with MS Exchange some of who have broadband from BT but BT do not host their domain.

Mail is sent usng DNS in Excahnge but my clients are experiencing mail delivery failure to some recipients servers that do a Revese DNS check on the sending IP. This would resolve to, for example, hostxx-xxx-xxx-xxx.in-addr.btopenworld.com and not to my clients myclientsdomain.com email sending domain as specified in the MS Exchange SMTP service.

As a woraround, I have created additionl SMTP connectors and relay the email for the affected domains via BT servers inc. Yahoo. AOL etc.

How do I get BT to enter a RDNS in their system for my various clients who have Broadband from BT but BT do not host their domain?

Hi All,

To request rDNS setup go to this link and send a request in via email and the specialist team will set it up and email you back once it is done.

The domain in question does not need to be hosted wtih BT for us to set this up.

I hope this helps.

Mark
