I have set up a mailform on the mag/nayandya/tes.co.uk website (delete slashes if you want to look at it) but now I'm getting spam email with rubbish text in the name, address, phone etc values and more rubbish text with some hyperlinks in the message body.

Is there an easy way I can do some simple form validation - such as checking against letters in the phone number field and the right format for postcode?

I would ignore it personally. You can prevent it happening by implementing some kind of validation system, although if you are using ESW Pro then this will not be so easy to do.
