PS, the 403 forbidden error is caused by there being no index.html file within the BT webspace. Normally in this case the browser will attempt to list the directory contents, however as this is disabled by default with BT you get the error.

I bought a BT domain and set it up to forward to my IP (which works fine entered on its own) and it will not link to my website for anyone but me. It is not a problem with my server as I have tried linking to other servers and forwarding to Google with equal failure. Has anyone had similar problems if so please help I have no idea what to do...

Your A record for the domain is pointing to 209.235.144.9 rather than your own ip address.

The IP that I mentioned is BT's web hosting server which suggests that you also have a BT web hosting package. In this case, BT will not allow you to change the A record yourself. You will need to contact BT and ask them to do it for you.

Go to the following page and fill in the A record repoint form:

http://btbusiness.custhelp.com/app/contact#s=IjE5OTUsMjMxMyI.

Ok I checked the advanced domain options and there was an IP grayed out so I could not edit it the same as the one that you posted. Atleast I know its not my server that is not working. I sent a emaill about it thank you for your help.

No idea how but I changed the BT ip you linked to my own but people are still having the same problem. Linking the website directly works fine but the domain won't let anyone but me use it.
