topic BT Infinity Business Hub Replacement / Layer 3 switch in Broadband

Hello all,

I’m in need of setting up VLAN’s, I was planning on using a Draytek Vigor 2862 with a layer 2 managed switch but have found reports saying that it will only do 190Mb/s with PPPoe. My next option was a 2926 but I cannot find any related information to determine its capabilities. Has anyone had any experience with this scenario? The connection is FTTP with a ONT modem and the link is currently 330Mb/s + downIoad, I don’t want to take a speed loss. Would a layer 3 switch be a better option? If so would it be possible to setup without a double NAT?

Thanks,
Luke

I am not aware of the speed limitation but you could use the hub to handle the authentication and take an Ethernet feed to the 2862 to do the VLANs.
