I had my BT Business broadband sorted by an engineer yesterday. BT have supplied one of these Hybrid connect EE devices. The broadband is quite happy to connect internally to the router, but nothing I can do is getting it to show a White mobile symbol, I've even tried attaching a couple of aerials which I've read about. Absolutely nothing - just red flashing mobile connect symbols. When I've searched for EE mobile coverage at this address it shows no indoor coverage. Clearly I've been subscribed to a service that I can't take advantage of no matter how useful it might be. Where do I stand and what should I do?

Thanks BethM. I did so, twenty minutes later the online help person came up with the fact that they couldn't help and to phone 0800 800156 - so that's going to have to wait until I've got some more time on my hands. You would think that if this morning's engineer has agreed the EE signal is non-existent here that it would be simple matter to have resolved that online with someone.

Hi there, thanks for coming back to us — having three devices and none of them working must be incredibly frustrating, and it’s certainly not the experience we want for you.

From what you’ve described, the Hybrid Connect won’t be able to work properly if there’s no usable EE signal at your address. The solid white mobile signal light will only appear when it can detect and connect to the local EE network — so if coverage is showing as no indoor EE signal, the unit simply won’t be able to do its job.

Here’s what you can do next:

🔍 1. Double‑check coverage

You can confirm EE coverage at your address using the official checker:

🧰 2. Troubleshoot the Hybrid Connect

If you'd like to go through all troubleshooting steps just in case, here’s the BT Business guide:

📞 3. Speak with BT Business about your options

If there’s no EE signal at the address, you shouldn’t be left paying for a service you can’t benefit from. Get in touch with BT Business support so they can review your setup and advise on next steps:

They’ll be able to check your line, your contract, and whether Hybrid Connect should remain on the account given the lack of coverage.
