topic FTTP availablilty in Broadband

I wonder if someone can point me in the right direction? We are a charity have an existing broadband line. I have entered our postcode into both the BT and Openreach the broadband checkers, it comes up with three different options for the actual address where we are located. I have tried all three but each one states that there's no current plan for FTTP to our address. This is even though all the other locations in that postcode show that FTTP is available to them and we are served by the same phone pole as all the other properties. I'm guessing this is an error and we should be able to upgrade to FTTP but not sure who I should speak to. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Psnera

We use Openreach for the network so we would use their data on what's available. There are a number of factors that could mean some properties in a postcode have access to FTTP and some don't. You should be able to sign up to updates for when it's available at your address.

Thanks for the reply. I understand that some properties in a postcode could be different, but it really does not make sense that all the other properties served by a single pole are fibre and we are the only property still on copper. It appears that there is no process to question Openreach as to whether they possibly could have made a mistake.

Hi there, thanks for getting back to us.

I completely understand why this feels frustrating — especially when neighbouring properties served by the same pole are already showing as fibre‑ready. In situations like this, it can sometimes come down to how Openreach’s network records are updated, or engineering requirements specific to an individual address. Openreach confirm that neighbouring properties can become available at different times for several valid reasons, including phased build, engineering constraints, or records still updating.

To check the latest status directly, you can use the official Openreach Fibre Checker:
🔗 https://www.openreach.com/fibre-checker [openreach.com]

You may also find this page helpful, as it explains why one address can show fibre availability while another doesn’t — even on the same pole:
🔗 Why can my neighbours order Full Fibre but I cannot?
https://www.openreach.com/help-and-support/why-can-my-neighbours-order-full-fibre-but-i-cannot [openreach.com]

You can also explore Openreach’s Help & Support section for guidance on next steps or to submit an enquiry relating to your address:
🔗 Openreach Help & Support — https://www.openreach.com/help-and-support [openreach.com]

We appreciate your patience — and please keep us posted with what the checker shows for your address. Happy to help however we can.
