Currently got no broadband and been told it’s a full week wait for an engineer to come and fix a “mis-jumper” on our phone line.

Is it something I could possibly solve myself? My Google searches are mainly returning fancy winter clothes...

Hi,

No this would not be something you can solve. The jumper is part of the connections on the lines outside. Unfortunately one must be fault or have become disconnected and you would need to wait until the engineer has completed the repair.

If we can assist please privately message I can take your business details and will help in anyway we can.

Thank you, Adam

It means there is a fault in the local cabinet or exchange.
