Thank you. That looks really helpful but when I try it I can't get very far. Let me describe what happens:

1. I dial **** (i.e. four * key presses) then comes the response "Enter password followed by the pound key" in an American accent.

2. I try 110# in the hope that that is the password, but the voice merely repeats "Enter passwod etc ". I have a password (a number) that I use for voicemail but it doesn't work. I guess my phone provider could help here.

I note that others have had my problem, i..e. I have had just converted to VoIP using a Cisco ATA 191connected to my analogue phone which incorporates a bell ringer. I note John Geddes had this problem. I understood from him that the problem lay with the ring voltage from the ATA 191 being too low. I need help in logging in to the ATA 191 and changeing the ringer voltage. Can John or anyone else help?

Hello!

Changing the ring voltage on your Cisco ATA 191 to make a traditional analog phone's bell ringer work is a common issue. To fix it, you'll need to access the ATA's web interface. First, dial **** from the connected phone and then 110# to get the device's IP address. Enter that IP address into a web browser on a computer connected to the same network. Once you log in, navigate to the Voice or Line 1 settings and look for the Ring Voltage option. Change this MyFordBenefits from a balanced to a higher, unbalanced setting. If you can't find these options, your VoIP provider has likely locked them, and you'll need to contact their support to have them make the change for you.
