topic BT ATA191 configuration in Phone line

Hello there.

This is further to an earlier post of mine where I was attempting to integrate a Bell system BT1 with the BT Business voice system.

I've now obtained from BT a Cisco ATA191 adaptor, however it fails to work with the Bell BT1.

I have been able to confirm that this is due to the internal settings of the ATA191 needing to be configured differently.

As I understand it, it is, in theory, a relatively simple job to access the ATA191 using its IP Address and subsequently change the settings. Unfortunately I am also led to believe that the ATA191 is locked down by BT in so much as they have set an alternative password rather than the default.

I am in possession of a table showing the correct settings for the device.

So what is the best way forward ? Can BT provide me with the credentials to access and then configure my device myself. Or can some kind Moderator advise me as to who I can contact in order to provide them with the settings so that they can presumably upload them remotely?

I should dearly love to get this issue resolved.

Kind regards

Heeley Culton
