I have just receive a PDF to update my email address. The PDF states:

We recently wrote to you to let you know that security improvements are being made to you btconnect.com email.

This is to bring you notice that your update is now available in PDF. Starting from August 10, 2025, customers that are yet to update their email accounts will no longer be able to log in to their accounts through email addresses due to recent new year upgrades.

Please follow the PDF link.

Note: BT account maybe close with your permission if this message is ignored again.

Please do not reply to this message. Mail sent to this address cannot be answered.

No it is not genuine, btconnect email addresses are for customers only and BT would not use one to reach out to you about your services. I would advise you forward this email to abuse@bt.com as an attachment and then delete it.

Thank Beth, I did find it unusual for a BT person sending me this threat. One to remember for all those that get these suspicious emails.
