Building next door can get fibre but not us?

We're about to move premises and are in a bit of a quandary with the broadband we can get at the new premises.

Checking SamKnows, it says that at the new postcode, these services are available:

The following services are available in your location:

  • BT Wholesale ADSL
  • BT Wholesale ADSL Max
  • BT Wholesale WBC (21CN)
  • BT FTTC
  • TalkTalk (CPW) LLU
  • Sky Broadband

However, when using the BT Availability checker, we can apparently only get up to 7Mbps. Whilst we could probably muddle through with this, it's not ideal.

What's really weird though, is that the adjoining building can apparently get fibre. Is it possible that there's an error in the database and that we can get better speeds or are we really doomed to suffer with speeds from the early 2000's? For reference, building A can get fibre, but building B apparently can't...

Hi Andrew,

It is not that uncommon to have adjacent properties with different broadband capabilities if there are cabled to different cabinets.

If you can private message me the full address of your new premises I will double check to see what is available.

Kind regards,

Stuart
