One of our clients has signed up for a BT business service with a static IP Address, but due to their business requirements they are using a Draytek router instead of the 2Wire one provided by BT. Does BT not assign the static IP designated via DHCP as our client gets a different P address every time the router reboots, and never the static one BT have designated?
Do we need to manually assign the single static IP address?, and if so what additional details do we need for DNS etc...
As our client is experiencing issues sending mail if the pick up a public IP address on a blacklist.

From what you say, your client likely has multiple static IP addresses. These need to be set up manually within his/her router. You would need to consult the documentation for the Draytek or contact their technical support department.

After a conversation with BT tech support it was established that the broadband was being logged on with incorrect details. Instead of email@example.com it simply had firstname.lastname@example.org. What really baffled the technicians was how on earth the connection was managing to pick up an IP address, and gain internet access with the wrong username entered... (apparently this was a first amongst the technicians on at the time).
The fact that it had been working fine several weeks, picking up diferent pblic IP' everytime it rebooted is Very Very Bizzare and something BT are going to look into...
Eitherway my problem was solved
