Static IPs

Hi,

I have ordered 5 static IPs from BT and now have them...the problem is i dont have the BT business hub (blew up). I am trying to configure a Netgear DGDN3700 router. The only information i can put into this router is a static IP...which i have put in and it doesnt work. It does however work fine with Get Dynamically from ISP.

BT have just said speak to the manufactures but I am wondering if anyone has a solution on here?

Thanks

Mike

Looks like you are not the only one:

I noticed from this site:

http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/reviews/network-wifi/3301843/netgear-n600-dgnd3700-review/

"DGND3700V2, this modem / router does not support IPoA protocol, so if your connection is ADSL with static IP probably will not be helpful because most ISPs use this protocol."

Also from

http://www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk/Shop/Reviews.asp?ProductID=10546

"Also had issues adding my ISP static IP and DNS servers.

Got them to work in the end by downloading firmware and flashing."

I have used netgear with a fixed IP and that was OK as I used DHCP but always assigned the same IP.

Good luck
