Strange Cisco 887VA with FTTC issue

andrewprior

I have a number of sites working with FTTC using the same config and the same Cisco routers although one site refuses to work.

-Zycel router works fine with BT FTTC modem

-BT FTTC modem work fines

-Cisco 887VA refuses to work on this line.  Have tried 2 now.

All we get is the CD light flashing so it is not training at layer 2.   This has been a cookie cutter role out so far......what am I missing? Could the particualr MSAN not support the Broadcom VDSL modem in the Cisco?  Is their a specific firmware or IOS that I need to apply just to this router to get it to work with this cabinet?

-IOS = C880DATA-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 15.4(3)M4

Have you set the VLAN tag to 101?  BT's VLAN ID is 101 and needs to be set on some routers, drayteks being a prime example.

Hope that helps.
