Users connecting to our application on Swedish servers from UK - Connection drops, package loss

Our business users connect to our tyre garage application software to servers hosted in Sweden using remote desktop connection and once or twice a month (for 1-2 hours) the connection drops for customers with BT as the ISP.

  • Users can still surf the web even when they cant access our software through RDP, hence the blame is put on us by some customers.
  • Affects only BT Internet users (or Internet Providers that use BT’s infrastructure)
  • Could it be some kind of routing problem to the Swedish data centre?
  • If the customer installs a VPN then that resolves the issue – i.e. the customer routes to the VPN provider then the VPN provider can get to our servers fine

Can anyone help identify the problem please?
