BT internet server does not recognise my user name or password for my bt email adress which means I cannot send from my third party email address. BT support can't help me as all the settlings appear to filled in correctly. They then take me to BTyahoo to log on which I do and my bt email works fine and sometimes the situation resolves itself. Has anyone experienced this problem?

This is an interesting situation. It works on webmail but not on the Outlook? You might want to check the SMTP and Pop3 servers set on your outlook. You probably might want to post them here.

Which 'BT server' are you using? Also what is the domain of the email you are trying to use, for example @btconnect.com or @btinternet.com?
I'm guessing the latter in one or both cases, as Yahoo run the @btinternet.com servers.
If you are using an @btconnect.com address and server then contact the Business Helpdesk.
If it's @btinternet.com then contact the Residential Helpdesk.
