Outlook 2013 and Outlook 2016 password dialog started showing every minute

Hi,

We have small business which uses BT business email lite for a long while. We know it is using office365 at the back end and has been working fine for the last 6-9 months, since it transferred across.

We use a combination of Outlook 2013 and Outlook 2016 email clients, on pop3/ smtp.

Starting this morning, the outlook password dialog had started showing up every couple of minutes. It is happening on all  machine, it is only 6 machines in total.

What could be causing it? Would it be problem at the BT end. The client is set to request new email every 2 minutes.

Thanks.

Hi scope_creep

Sorry to hear you are having these issues.

Thisi s a known issue just now and it is intermittently impacting Microsoft POP accounts when using email clients like Outlook. It is something impacting quite a lot of people and the last update we have is that this is being worked on as we speak. Normal service is expected to resume shortly so this password issue will hopefully be gone ASAP! In the meantime you can still access your email directly via webmail on portal.office365.com, and you can keep tabs on this issue via our service status page on 0800 169 0199.

Regards

Ryan
