no voicemail notifications

I am receiving no voicemail notifications after switching to BT mobile. When I contacted BT the first time they told me to use 15711 to turn on the notifications which I did, but I still did not receive any notifications. I contacted BT again and after about an hour of hanging on, are telling me to contact Samsung (I have a Galaxy S5) and suggesting that in the few days since I switched from a previous SIM contract it is now the handset settings that are the problem.

Has anyone else experiencing the same problem and have a solution? This is a fundamental service and I have already missed notifications of important messages

I have now spoken to Samsung. The problem is apparently due to the phone cache in the Galaxy S5. To get round the problem:

  • Reboot the phone in service mode
    1. Shut the phone down
    2. Hold the volume up and home button whilst powering up the phone
  • Using the volume button to move up and down
    1. Move down and select clear cache settings
    2. Once the cache has cleared move up and select restart the phone
  • Once the phone has restarted
    1. Ring mobile to leave a new voicemail
    2. You should now receive a message to say you have voicemail
