Can I port a BT Voip Geo number to third party provider

I have voip with BT with a geographic number on a monthly rental.

Can I have this number ported to another voip provided?

I tried to do this but the provider said that BT came back that the number was not in service.

not all numbers can be ported but most can, most suppliers need the number active before they can try and port to their network, if the number is ceased then the port will fail.

do you know if your voip service is active with BT? if you are not sure can you please send me a prive message with your full contact details and your voip number and I will have a look for you.
