I just switched my old service over to digital voice, I tested my 2 handsets and my alarm with me other VOIP line using a Linksys PAPT2 adapter, worked fine.
I was sent a new VOIP handset, VOIP Hub and Business Hub 2.
I set everything up, tried one old handset in the rear of the hub, nothing.
Did some searching, found that the Cisco ATA 192 is recommended with a RJ11 adapter.
Got that today (from ebay).
Couldn't get it to work but found the 192.168.15.1 set up details, got that updated to DHCP and assigned IP within my LAN.
Accessed the Cisco ATA 192 panel and updated the firmware.
Now I am stuck, I need a load of settings to add to the box.
In BT help docs it said add the device in CVE but I only have the handset listed.
I ordered a EE BT Adapter arriving next week from business bt direct to see it that would get it going, arriving next week.
Any advice please?
Hi thefurmanuk
What VOIP handset are you trying to use on the CVE service? Did you get this from us as part of your order?
I received 1 Yealink handset with the deal which is working fine with the base station supplied.
I want to use my existing Panasonic cordless handsets.
After finally getting through on chat after waiting an hour, they refused to assist as I did not purchase direct.
I had to order a new Cisco 2 (ATA 192) direct for £75 plus £12.95 delivery, they will send an engineer to setup.
I just needed a config file or the settings but lets see what happens.
All they had to do was upsell me during the purchase process and I would have been satisfied, instead I had to search around for a solution.
Probably a good idea to have a link on the adapter set up page to the product to purchase: https://business.bt.com/help/guides/getting-started-with-your-bt-business-products/set-up-cloud-voic...
Not ideal.
Edit: it is actually a BTCV Phone Adaptor ATA 191 - 2 Port not a ATA 192.
