ISDN2e - No Connection

Hi folks

I'm trying at setting up phone systems at work and can't get it working.

What I have:

ISDN2e from BT.
Seimens Gigaset DX800A all-in-one phone system (1 x base, 6 x handsets)

What I have done:
I connect 1 cable (RJ14 perhaps) from BT NTE8 ISDN2e box to base station.
Base station recognises ISDN line and starts connection wizard. I get a solid green light on ISDN2e box.

Base station doesn't recognise MSN number - I manually set this and end wizard.

However, when I try and dial, I get no connection.

I've tried various combinations for the MSN number:

44131 XXX XXXX
0131 XXX XXXX
131 XXX XXXX
XXX XXXX
XX XXXX

No success. BT has tested the line and reports no faults.
Any help/ideas would be appreciated!
Thanks
Dave

On most telephone systems when programming MSNs you don't need the area code. In your area which is a Director area I don't know if you would need the exchange code as well so just try the last 4 digits.

Hi Davel

Thanks for the suggestion - I've tried this, but still no luck. Any more ideas?

Normally if you don't programme a MSN it willl automatically ring the main handset or group. What do you get if you ring the number?

I agree as I don't usually use area codes. Whenever I dial a number, it will automatically recognize where I am calling.

Hi,

did you manage to get your system working in the end? If so what did you need to do?

Thanks

Yes. We had to get the line changed from "point to point" to "point to multi point"

Once we knew this, it was simple for bt to do.

Thanks
