BT Business hub 5

I have a customer with a BT Business Hub 5. We have setup some custom rules on the firewall for forwarding various services to devices, these work fine for a period of time (a week or two), but then stop working. On checking the router they have been removed from the rules list. The customer isnt doing this, and the router isnt suffering from periods of downtime or any other symptoms. All other configuration settings remain, it is just losing the port forwards. Anyone had experience of this? Is my only recourse to contact BT, or get another device in place? Thanks.
