We would like to add a secure area to our website where staff can log in and access/ amend information from various locations (not for public use)... I have no idea where to start with regards to this. I'm happy to work hard to get this done and I tend to pick things up pretty quick, it's knowing where on earth to start! Costs must be kept down as it's a voluntary organisation... any suggestions/ help would be very very much appreciated.
We are using the Advanced hosting package
Website was built and loaded via ftp with Webplus X4
Additional SMF Forum has also been added.
Ty in advance!

BT does provide a simple method of password protecting a directory, and you can see this under the Security tab in the Website Centre.
However, this is rather simple and if you are looking for someone to be able to amend stuff too, then you are probably looking at a php/MySQL solution. Depending on what you are looking to amend, perhaps a CMS like Joomla or similar might be the way to go.
Either that or you may need to have something custom coded for you.

Thanks.
When using the password protecting method, can it password protect a single page or does it have to be an entire directory (like public/ secure etc)?
Hope my question makes sense.
*edit* resolved - thanks.

Does it also counts how many users can access with that password or are there no limits at all? I don't need it for now, but will sure be in the future. I just wanted to know though.. Thanks in advance.
