£300 Deposit.... when and how to get this back?

Hi,

When our business requested (Jan 2010) a BT Line and Internet access we were told we needed to pay a deposit because our company did not have any credit rating (Newish company) which we paid £300 and was told we would get it refunded after 12 months.

 

We moved premises in Jan 2011 and I was assuming we would be due to get the refund back soon.

In April I contacted BT and was told it was not there as such perhaps I should contact BT once the next bill arrives.

 

Next bill arrives and no refund.

 

My office manager rings up and was told there was no record of this deposit!

 

So BT can you advise on how my company can get this refund due please?

 

I will attempt to ring up personally this week but in the meantime can anyone else on here advise please?

I am very sorry that you have had some difficulty with this, psl2007.  The  best I can advise is that you chase this up with Billing.  If you get nowhere, send me a PM with some details.  Click on my Icon, you'll see the private message link a little way down the page, on the right.

Is it not a standard practice to ask such deposit?
