Advisor advised us to cancel our phone number. stop the cancellation

The BT advisor advised us to cancel our phone line as we could not divert the number. how do we stop the cancellation as this will loose us our business. We could have added smart divert for £5.50 a month on to the account instaed of getting a new line. Please can someone help us. I can't get hold of anyone at BT

Call BT cancelations and ask them to cease the cancelation.
