Just a quarterly check as to any news regarding solving the long outstanding BT Business Hub issues.
The BT Business Hub 3 has proven unusable in small business environments due to incorrect handling of VPN tunnels and inability to control port mapping correctly. Good example is lack of support for Vodafone Suresignal, a simple UPnP VPN tunnelling device.
The BT Business Hub 2701 HGV-C provides a highly unreliable basic service. Problem being it appears to frequently deadlock at which time internet traffic stops passing through the hub ... wait 30 secs and gradually packets start to flow.
How are the related firmware fixes to either device progressing or is there soon to be a working edition of the Business Hub 5 or maybe something else?
Hi @travelhigh
The deadlocks you mention with the BT Business Hub 2701 HGV-C are something I experienced with my BT Business Hub3 on business Infinity back in February and I posted the problem in this forum. I didn't get any replies (didn't really expect to) and I admit I didn't do anything about reporting the problem as I was really busy at the time & was using a Pipex backup ADSL connection on another line anyway.
When I checked the Infinity connection again a few weeks later, the download/upload speeds had dropped from 69/20 Mbit/s to 2/0.02 Mbit/s! This was during continuous really wet weather but a few days after the wet spell ended, line speeds went back up to normal and coincidentally the deadlock problem went away at about the same time. All is OK now - I think it may have been rainwater getting into the junction box outside the house.
