BT SMTP Servers and Exchange 2007

Hi,

Has anybody successfully set up Exchange to use mail.btconnect.com as an SMTP server via an Exchange 2007 SmartHost ?

If I use mail.btconnect.com or smtp.btconnect.com (both mentioned in chats with BT helpdesk staff) then I can't even get a connection using port 25 or 587.  If I use smtp.outlook.com then the email goes but because that server doesn't allow relaying, the sent message bounces saying I don't have permission to send as this client.

Currently having to pay a 3rd party for SMTP services but don't really want to have to do this as I'm already paying BT to provide SMTP relaying as part of the monthly payment.

Only none standard bits of routing are that we're using a Draytek router rather than a BT supplied on (port 25 and 587 both directed towards the Exchange server) and we use OpenDNS to provide DNS services.

I haven't tried it yet, but I read in some forums that it is possible. I will try it later and see how it works.
