BT Smarthost stopped working

Hi,

 

I am trying to narrow down why our exchange server smarthost has stopped working. i can see emails queuing up and when I run the exchange analyser its saying there is a mail acceptance failure. I can ping and telnet into the smarthost so not sure whats going on.

 

Has there been any upgrades etc to the network recently that could have caused this?

 

I also am not recieving any emails so panicking a bit, these both happened at the same time. I need to narrow it down so i can examine whats going on.. I have had the support from my firewall company who says there is nothing funny about that so need to check out BT.

 

Did call up but she didn't have a clue about technical matters.
