BT broadband, what a joke

Any small business should avoid BT business broadband. We have/had been a small business customer for many years paying through the nose for a service capped at half a meg. BT have decided in its wisdom that a new housing development of 15/20 houses is far more important - read lucrative/money spinner - the exchange line has been re-routed so we are apparently now too far from the exchange to receive a 'service'. Supposedly we are in the oil capital of Europe and in fact live only a few miles from Alex Salmond (First Minister of Scotland) yet we cannot receive a reliable service from BT. Customer service? BT business broadband do not even know the meaning of the words. Promises to call back never happen, the 'engineer' even manages to disconnect outside telephone bells, whoops, we also PAY extra for the bell, don't we? If you feel like throwing money away and want BT to singlehandedly destroy your business, by all means use BT business broadband, it is something they specialise in! AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! Nothing but rip off merchants who would not know custom service if it jumped up and bit them. Little wonder BT are one of the lowest rated broadband suppliers in the most recent Which? survey.

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience with us. So far, I haven't received any problems from BT yet though there are a lot of people who already have. In case this happens to me, I will take note of what you have said.

The incompetence saga continues! Engineer did arrive this morning but he was only here to fix the outside bell, apparently not allowed to do anything about the broadband. His supervisor did not even know anything about a broadband fault! I was assured a person from the escalated complaints team who apparently has taken 'ownership' of the complaint would call me immediately. That was an hour ago. Do BT staff even know how to use a telephone..................doubtful. Even the supposed management teams just ignored aggrieved customers...............And there certainly seem to be plenty of those!
