BT web hosting / domain name

I currently use the free web hosting from bt - http://home.btconnect.com/etc....  however I have now bought a name (but not a  web hosting faciliaty)  which makes more sense and is easier to remember.  Can I use the free space BT offers but access it from my new domain name.

Hi Londonsw13,

if the domain name is on the same account as the free space what you can do is point the domain name to the free space. To do this follow this guide

1. go to http://myoffice.bt.com click on manage services then login as the main @btconnect.com user.

2. Click on manage domain names, this will take you to the domain name center.

3. Click on mange button beside the domain name

4. You will see a section marked Website Forwarding in the box put the full free space address.

5. Then click save at the bottom right of the page.

I have two domains from BT. I have a hosting package with one domain but not the other. I want to point the domain without hosting at a subdomain on my hosted site. I cant do this from within tthe Domain Management area as it is not allowed, does anyone know how I can get this done?

Hi Lewishere,

If you go to DNS forms you will see an option for DNS web splitting.  Click on this then click email, and our DNS team will create the split for you to point the second domain at a folder within the main hosting pack.
