Hello,
Over the past couple of weeks I've been trying to figure out if the planned upgrade to Office 365 is suitable for our business. I've eventually received answers to most of my questions, but there is one still outstanding.
One of my colleagues has a BlackBerry on a BIS plan currently set up to work with his Plus Organise and Share account. It uses IMAP and 'synchronises' as desired.
What are the IMAP settings to use with BlackBerrys under the new Office 365 system? The only settings I could find only describe POP3 access, which would be a major backwards step. I've just found out that one option previously suggested to me on the phone, to use BlackBerry Exchange, requires us to be running a MS Exchange Server or Windows Small Business Server, which we don't have.
Thank you.
Hi. Hope this is what you are looking for.

Thank you for the suggestion. However, from the information supplied in the help articles and on this forum, I was under the impression that the BlackBerry will not find the correct server settings automatically - the incorrect username and password have to be entered to get to the options to manually set the server settings. However those instructions only describe the POP3 settings and not the IMAP settings (for example http://btbusiness.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/c/2048,2053,3793,3884/a_id/20002/kw/blackberry%203... and http://btbusiness.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/c/2048,2053,3793,3884/a_id/19577/kw/blackberry%203...).
If it makes a difference, the BlackBerry is not a BT one (T-Mobile).
Does anyone have any information on this? Anyone currently accessing Office 365 email using IMAP on a BlackBerry (with BIS) or otherwise can confirm that this will work?
I did eventually find the following page: What are the server details for Microsoft Office 365 for small business? (http://btbusiness.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/18515/c/2048,3433,3902) under the Other email software category (for some reason). This describes IMAP settings, however it still worries me that IMAP is not mentioned anywhere else. Is this a mistake, or are the other instructions missing this out for some reason?
I would like to be sure that this will work as expected before we commit to the upgrade to Office 365 (and the 12 month minimum term) - plus I don't want to have to spend more hours/days trying to get the BlackBerry to work again.
Thank you.
Still nothing on this, and no changes to the help pages... I want to avoid phoning if at all possible, due to the uncertainty of getting someone who isn't sure what the answer is (not to mention the frustration of actually getting through to the correct department in the first place, or waiting for a return phone call that never comes).
Now we are in the limbo of not knowing when our upgrade will go ahead, due to "unprecedented demand". Our orginally scheduled upgrade date was 'rescheduled' over three weeks ago, although we have received no further communication regarding a new date. I suppose the demand could technically be considered unprecedented, given that BT have not upgraded their servers to Office 365 before (obviously), but since this is a BT-driven process and they know how many customers they have to upgrade, surely the demand was not unexpected? I suspect the email should have said "unexpected problems" instead...
I just need to know if email can continue to be accessed using IMAP on a Blackberry, once the upgrade to Office 365 goes through. Can I use the server settings described here? The Blackberry setup pages don't mention IMAP settings, but neither do they say it's not possible. I need to know as this could be a deal breaker.
Thanks
