My retail line has issues and so I got a business line added to go along with it, this was meant to be from a different exchange but BT without consultation changed the order and I found it was being set up from the same exchange as my retail line.
For the last week I have had 3 occassions where BOTH lines have the broadband connection killed at exactly the same time and I have not managed to get a reply from the retail side on if this is them running a destructive test or not.
The problem is described at great length in http://community.bt.com/t5/BB-Speed-Connection-Issues/Strange-broadband-effect-issue-suggestions-nee...
but basically the normaly stable 1.25mbs profile connection has again been knocked down by the resync at this time of night to 750kbs and it's getting very annoying that BT fail to bother to reply to emails to the REIN engineer that is meant to be keeping an eye on the woosh system for this.
Raising the issue here on the assumption that I can get a mod to look at the issue and find out if this is a new problem that needs to be raised or if BT are running tests after all.
Two exchanges feeding one building/premises? That would be a very rare occurence - it can happen but is certainly not normal practice and I am surprised that te original order was taken on those grounds.
My gut feel is there is a significant noise event that causes the problem.
Can you run RouterStats Lite on both connections monitoring SNR and Sync speed - leave it running and recording and then, when teh problem occurs, host teh images and provide a link here.
I'd strongly recommend that you Contact Us This issue requires that we run some diagnostics on the line.
