Cancelling a Web Hosting Package and a Domain Name

Hi

 

Ive cancelled my web hosting package with BT, but I also want to cancel my domain name which was also registered with BT. Nominet won't release the domain name back on to general sale before BT pay them for the rental on my behalf- every time I call BT I get referred to people who just refer me to different people!

 

How do I go about asking to be billed for my domain name so that it can be released back to nominet?

I am pretty sure that if you want to cancel the domain name, BT will pass on the Nominet fee to yourself.

 

Do you really need to cancel the domain? It will cancel itself after 2 years anyway as long as you don't renew it. Maybe this would be a better option.
