Changing Routers Problems

Hi Guys,

Currently have the BT Business Hub (2700HGV) but because of the way the pub is set out, the Wifi can not cover 80% of the pub. I have purchased a Belkin N+ Wireless ADSL Modem Router (F5D8635uk4A) but come hell or high water the new router will just not work. Constantly getting a no connection error. And just won’t work. Is the line locked to a specific router perhaps? Any help would be great.

I don't think it's locked at all. I'm not sure but you need to set maybe some PPPoe settings. I would suggest to call the business tech support on this.

I was going to ring customer services, however the installation was put in before we took over the pub and the previous landlord has left me know paperwork about the account. so i no nothing about it. ie username, passwords.

The line is NOT locked to a specific modem/router.

If you have taken over, there must be a bill or something that proves you are paying.

Call Business Tech support and take them through it all - they will find a way of dealing with teh issue.   The 2700 will have the user name entered so you will have a start.

As for coverage - will te replacement achieve it?   Maybe not.

You would be better using a couple of WAPs attached to the existing router.

I was thinking of plugging the router in and doing it a wap extender, but for a line into the new router from the old its a slightly smaller cable then the ethernet cable, and each router only have one smaller port socket, do you get what i mean?
