Compensation for being mucked about

Garymilne

Hi

We recently ordered a phone line into some new offices, told it was a astonishing 5 week wait and someone would have to be available for 5 hours to meet the engineer.

Ok, not good, but anyway what can you do? The offices are 70 miles from our current ones, so quite inconvenient. We have to sign the contract for the offices a few weeks ago, but cant use it without phones, £250 pw.

Travelled, got here good and early, waited all day, called at 5pm because was worried they got lost, told still coming.

Guess what? no engineer, no call and no flipping phones!

Now it's 6.30,office not manned, so no way of knowing what is happening.

Anyone successfully claimed compensation from these goons for this type of behaviour?

Gary

Hi Gary,

I'm sorry you've had problems, but the forums is not the place to raise them with regard to getting action:

"These Forums are for BT Business customers to discuss how to get the most out of their BT Business products and services with other customers. Helpdesk agents monitor posts on a part-time basis but this is not an official BT contact route. If you have an issue that needs to be resolved by BT please contact us."

Please do email or call use through the contact details on the link and we can look into it for you.

I have looked on the Complaints Page. I have tried telephoning but your system doesn't seem to recognise the word "Complaint" or "Complaint re order". I have a long list of what has happened since I first placed the order on 15 May which I would like to send to someone in authority but I cannot find an e-mail adress on the page, although you say below that there should be one.

We may only be a small business but we cannot get started without these lines in place.

When I had a problem last year, and felt I was getting nowhere, in frustration one Saturday evening at about 22:50 I emailed Ian Livingston, BT's Chief Exec.

Much to my surprise he replied about 20 minutes later, as I was getting ready for bed.

He promised to put somebody on the case.

Sure enough, first thing Sunday morning, I received a call, they took the matter in hand a dealt with the problem.

Hi,

Unfortunately not all departments take the same form of communication.  Only some of them have email, and others only have Live Chat, and yet others may only have a phone number.  I'm sorry if I didn't make that clearer.
