I have joined this forum and write in desperation that someone from BT with a modicum of decency and competence will at least acknowledge my plight....
Apologies in advance for the length of what follows but despite over 120 minutes on my mobile phone I'm no nearer a solution. In fact is has been exacerbated by a factor of 5 (years)
OK here we go. On 31st March I ordered BT Business Phone Line & Office Broadband Unlimited on a 12 month contract and was given an installation date of 8th April. (It's really that simple!).
8Th of April came but I had no dial tone? Rang Sales who told me everything was working OK, and passed me to faults. Faults tell me there is nothing wrong with my installation at (and here in lies the crux of the problem) A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT BUSINESS ADDRESS. I go back to sales who say "oh dear!, I'll have to ring you back" They do and ask IF I'M SURE I have the right address. WHAT! did they think I'd forgotten my business address and just selected one at random. Then they ask if I'd requested it installed at the other address? Then the BT employee admits someone their end has made a mistake... DUH you think!.... He'll call me back....
2 hours and nothing, I ring them and passed from pillar to post for 87 minutes, sales who are now very cagey and tell me there’s nothing they can do! Initially they would not even allow me to make a formal complaint and speaking to a supervisor or manager was completely "out of the question". They pass me to After Sales then on to Option who tell me After sales passed me to them because it's close to 5.30 and they know it will be to late to be transferred back. I found it appalling, not only that it was done, but that an employee would actually tell me.
Fuming I go home, check my emails and find a Welcome to BT email confirming my NEW ORDER for.... well just about everything it appears, including BT Hub (don't need) Business Broadband on 24 month? contract and Featureline Compact line rental 5 Year Contract (5 years!!!!!). oh yea and finally installation is a MONTH away and instruction to engineer state "Installation Address: No address required"
Just so we're clear on this one, I, nor anyone employed by or associated with my company, either requested or gave permission for any third party, to place this order with BT. In short WE DID NOT PLACE THIS ORDER!
Today was the launch of my new business, and having received confirmation from BT my services were ok I had ordered all my stationery, letterheads, business cards and 20,000 flyers. The New order has, you guessed it.. a completely different telephone number. When i mentioned this to one BT employee he asked me if I had put my telephone number on the flyers. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!
So my request is very very simple, could someone who actually understands my problem and is able to at least tell me who to speak to or what dept to phone please contact me. If the number on the tip of your tongue is 0800 800 152, please do not reply!
Any advice from other member would also be gratefully received. Thanks in Advance.
