I am finding it very difficult sifting though BT's website to ge ta clear indication of whether BT's network is able to support IPv6 yet. BT announced it was working towards this over the next couple of years back in 2011. It is now 2013 and I am struggling to find any recent indication of whether BT managed to roll it out or whether they are still working on it.
There is the BT IPv6 website but this just seems to have information about why IPv6 is important and encouraging businesses to be ready to migrate to it. However it does not, as far as I see, show any clear indication of whether BT supports IPv6 (natively, without tunneling it over IPv4).
Is there any update?
I have spoken to a few colleagues about this and the answer that i have for you is
While BT are aware of this and we are future proofing for this, there is no timescale for a IPv6 roll out.
Hi,
The last update to the thread was a year ago, so think its time to ask again if there any further updates about BT activating IPv6 for business customers?
We are on ADSL using a business hub 3.
Neil
Hi Neil,
It is a year later, and unfortunately the current situation is the same - IPv6 ought to become enabled in the future, but as yet we have no details as to when this will be.
Sorry about that.
