DNS re-point taking a long time

Can I please find out how long it actually takes for a DNS modification to happen. I requested a change an hour and a half ago, and still haven't gotten an answer. Ref: number is 141212-001330

Is this how things typically go at BT? If so, why in gods name don't you allow the users to control their own dns, just like at every single other hosting company in the world?

regards

Hi adrian_develop,

I have checked on your reference number and I can see that your request has been answer and actioned by the domain name team.

Generally any request emailed in through the forms via www.dnsforms.co.uk are done by the end of the next working day.

Doesn't answer the question why you won't allow us to edit our own DNS. Every other hosting provider does.

Bit of a joke really

Hi Gary-lees,

Users can manage there own DNS through the domain DMC. To access the DMC you would need to login to our website http://myoffice.bt.com by logging in with the primary @btconnect.com email address for the domain.  Once logged into manage services there is a domain section where you can mange the domain, go into this select the domain in question and click manage, then select the advanced section, this will allow you to edit the DNS for the domain.

Hi Gary,

We are aware that some records will be "locked".

We have plans to update the dmc and the "lock" is one feature we hope to have removed, however at the moment we do not have any timescales as to when this will be released.
