I have bought the domain www.portgifts.co.uk and want it to forward onto http://www.ukhampers.webs.com/. However, when you enter portgifts.co.uk into the address bar and press enter i get:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access / on this server.
What should i do?

Hi there,
I checked the domain forward and the problem was that rather than replacing the current record with the forward it created an addiitional record.
This would have caused the forward to work only 50% of the time.
Our apologies for the delay, I have now removed the duplicate record so that the site will now forward correctly.
Thanks

Hi.
How have you set up the forwarding ? Is it possible you have entered the wrong info ?
All i did was:
Went on maintence on domain section
Went on manage of the portgifts.co.uk
Copied in www.ukhampers.webs.com into the website forwarding box.
That was it

I have a similar problem I have purchased an additional domain http://www.driedlavender.org.uk/ and forwarded it to my bt web site www.provencelavender.co.uk however when I click on it I receive an error 403 message the website declined to show this web page. could you have a look at this for me. best wishes Ash
Hi Ash,
I have checked the DNS records for the site and they are correctly set to forward to - http://www.provencelavender.co.uk.
I have also visited the site and reaching it with and without adding www.
Please let me know if you are still encountering a problem.
Thanks
Colin
I'm having a similar issue
I have a domain www.craighoward.co.uk (hosted by BT) which I am trying to forward to www.craighoward.com which is hosted somewhere else.
When I try to set up website forwarding in basic domain management, I get the following error
"You are trying to set a www record, when one already exists for this domain. This can cause issues with the domain resolving properly. None of the changes just submitted have been saved. If you need to change a www record please use Advanced Domain Manager."
When I go into advance domain manager I set up an entry,
Type: URL
Key: www
Value: http://www.craighoward.com
Is this correct?? When I try and browse to www.craighoward.co.uk I get the 403 forbidden error.
Thanks
g.
Hi there,
Apologies for the delay in response.
The reason you are having problems is because of the way we configure our hosting.
At present your domain is pointing to our default IP address of 209.235.144.9.
Because of thie way our system saves the setting, this is locked. This is to prevent fully hosted sites from being taken down by accident by changes being made in the Advanced domain manager.
In order to make the changeyou require, please could you go to dnsforms.co.uk, click on domains and hosting and then DNS A-record repoint.
This takes you to an online form where you can request the forward be applied. This is our standard procedure for any domain name changes in order that we have an audit trail of these requests.
I am unable to make the change as we need to vaildate security with you and as stated these requests are not actioned over the phone even if validation is done.
Once this change has been made by our dedicated team who will handle your request, the records will no longer be our defaults and you can therefore make changes via Advanced Domain Manager in future.
Hope this helps
