Email space

In the good old days (BC, Before Cloud) it was easy to find out how much email space was available. Can't find it now, and am also unclear whether deselecting 'leave messages on server' in OE or Outlook has any effect.

In short, how do we manage the space?

Yes, it's possible.

Simply log in to your online email account at: https://login.microsoftonline.com/ with your username and password.

Click on the gear wheel icon, select 'Options' and you should see it displayed there, amongst other things.

Keeping mail on the server will affect your storage capacity. I believe all '@btconnect.com' email accounts ought to have 1 GB of storage at this time.

And I liked the 'BC' reference 😉

Thanks for the prompt reply (and smiley). That link takes me to OWA which doesn't have a gear wheel. There is an Options button, but that's for signatures, name resolution etc.

No problem...the gear icon ought to be on the top right of your screen, between your own name and the '?'

You should see 'my account' on the left, and 'connected accounts' above it once you've selected 'Options' from the drop-down menu.

This is what I get. Looking at the wrong page, I suspect...

No, I honestly don't think you're doing anything wrong - I've checked this with a colleague and I believe there's something odd happening at our/Microsoft's side.

If you could Private Message me with a few account details, such as the email account username you're trying to access, I'll get this escalated offline for you.

What I believe has happened here, is that you've activated the 'Light' version of the Outlook webmail, which has a different display to the standard version.

To get out of this, and access the interface as described above, could you please do the following and let me know how you get on:

 - Under the 'Mail' view (where you can see your full inbox), click on Options at the top;

 - click 'web app version' on the left.

Then untick the box that shows the Light version is enabled.

You may need to click Save or OK if such an option is visible. Otherwise, simply log out, log in again, and then proceed as described in my original post.

I think you're right, but I seem to be getting the light version either way.  The 'use light version' tickbox has been unticked all the time (see attached) but ticking it makes no difference to the appearance. Perhaps it senses my slow connection and chooses for me...

Any thoughts? I appreciate your efforts.

What's the name and version of the web browser you're using there?

Fair point. I use Opera, which is normally well-behaved, but Mozilla did the trick. Thanks for your persistence! Do you know if the 'leave emails on server for xx days' setting in OE works with OWA? Or do we have to delete them manually?

Thanks again.
