I have just switched to a BT Buisiness package and opted for a single static IP in return for keeping my exisiting router. I assumed setup would be straight forward after reading several other posts detailing sucess using the dg834g. In the dg834gt control panel I entered the login details as supplied by bt to try to use the router as dhcp and modem but sadly no internet!
After a bit of digging I have learnt that the modem ip should be set to automatic, and that the routers lan ip and subnet should be set to the same as my public static ip assigned by BT. However, am i being daft or does this mean that all local machines would have to use an ip in the same range as the router unless i use a second router (available) as a dhcp to assign local ips in the 192.168.0.X range?
Any help on setting up the dg834gt for use with a static ip would be great, thanks!!

There's no configuration necessary for a single static IP, leave your local network and DHCP as default (192.168.0.1/255.255.255.0) and leave the WAN IP to obtain automatically from ISP. Single statics are assigned by username, so when the service sees your netgear login with your details, you will automatically be given your static IP. Only LAN config is required if you're running multiple statics IP's.
