IP phones 'dropping out' intermittently

Hi, we have a BT versatility system with 2 IP phones via the Broadband module.

There are 3-5 users on the existing ADSL Internet that is shared by the phone system as well. Average connection speed is about 2-3MB.

The remote IP phone users are complaining calls 'drop' when in use and this seems to be when there is more than 1 person in the office using the ADSL Internet line.

Is this normal? Does anyone else co-exist BT versatility IP phones with their office Internet?  If so, how many local phones and/or local Internet users at the same time?

I have been round in circles with BT over this. They get an engineer to create a remote extension to an IP phone but only speak for a few mins before saying all is OK. They really need to use in a typical working day to experience the 'dropping out'.

Any chance of speaking direct to my local BT business team?

Regards

IP phones are notoriously "greedy" about the amount of connection bandwidth they use.  With only 2 - 3 Mbps, you may struggle to support 2 VOIP phones as well as Internet Access.  Such a problem would be difficult to troubleshoot, my advice would be to check for a dropping connection with the IP phones disconnected completely for a day or two.
