Intermittent Internet and wifi problems

angeloconti

I have had a very good Internet connection and wifi access for some time but in the last two weeks it had becoime problematic.

The cabled connectiojn from my PC seems to be OK most of the time but I cannot connect through wifi with my iPhone. I can see the router in the iPhone but when I click on it it says its unobtainable. I have tried resetting the router (BT Router) and also a full reset of the phone. Occasionally it does connect but the speed is very slow and a speed test shows the connection to be erratic.

I have gone through the diagnostic on my PC using the BT faultfinder.

PC - i7 running Windows 7

iPhone 4 running version 5.0.1

Any suggestions?

How many times have I heard ... "cannot get my iPhone/iPad to connect to my wirelss network"

I don't know the answer but it is a frequent occurrence and it really does suggest that something with te Apple software is the root of the problem.

I have seen it here,   everything and anything can connect, except an iPad!

Try changing the security to WPA in the BT router, seems more stable with mac gear.

Hi,

You can check the adapter that it is working well or not.

And next time when the concerned person from the internet service provider comes to you ask the solution to him/her. I don't know the solution but it can be connected.

I am saying all this because my brother is facing same problem but one of hie friend can do it in seconds within first attempt. There might be some trick or logic we are missing.

My i-pad, seemingly of its own volition, has fixed on BTFON as its network.  The network I use, however, is BTHub--QK3J. When I seek to change the setting to BTHub3..I keep getting the message that it is unable to join the network. (I am assuming that the relevant password is the Admin.Password).

Hi Angel. You need to check if its the router or the iphone itself.

Are there any notebooks that that connect here wirelessly? If yes, its an iphone issue. Try removing the security settings for testing and try again.
