Intermittent noise on phone line after upgrade to infinity

Early in April I upgraded to infinity and have been plagued with noise on my phone line since.

The fault was first reported on April 11th and I've had about eight engineer visits since.

The socket has been replaced, pairs between the cabinet and the premises have been changed, pairs between the cabinet and the exchange have been replaced on these visits.

The noise then stops for any when between 30mins or a few days only to return.

I was given a number to text if there were any more faults but they don’t bother to reply to my text messages. The noise has now been there since last Wednesday and I have an engineer visit booked for Thursday but don’t have much hope that it will get fixed for long then.

I did phone broadband faults and ask if the adsl connection could be present with the vdsl connection and possibly causing the noise but was told it couldn't be.

I find trying to use this phone for business is unacceptable and have to resort to using my mobile phone.

I have no internal wiring connected to the rear of the socket and have tried two different corded phones but still the noise persists.

I'm looking for pointers to suggest to the engineer that hopefully turns up Thursday as so far nothings changed for the better.

This noise doesn't seem to affect my broadband for some reason.
