Inundated with unsubscribe messages for someone else's newsletter

We've been inundated with emails from all sorts of people over the last few days all wanting to unsubscribe from a newsletter which is nothing to do with us. Some are quite irate at being added to a mailing list without their consent but it's nothing to do with us. They are addressed to newsletter@ppr.hr which is not our email address and nothing like it. How can we get these stopped as it's getting difficult to find genuine client emails amongst them?

It sounds like one of the PCs on your nework has been infected with a virus or spyware. You need to get a full Anti Virus and malware scan done on all the PCs to find out which one that is sending out the spoof emails.

We have only one pc which accesses this email account. We do not have a server or a network as such. The pc which is able to access this email account is not currently connected to the internet or even switched on as our office has been closed for the last 3 days, so it cannot be sending these out. We don't even have a wireless router that anyone could be accessing.  The antivirus etc was up to date last time the office pc was used.

I have been checking the email online at the webmail site from at least 2 different pcs which are not set up with our business email, yet I have got another 4 pages of these emails today, mainly generated on Sunday. The emails are addressed to a completely different address from ours so why are we getting them?

Hi,

Sounds like email spoofing.  Have a read of this post:
