Massive disappointment with BT support!

I have been trying to get a bug fixed on my account for nearly a month now.

Frustrating, as all I want to do is pay for the services I use via direct debit which I want to set up from my account!

This is particularly annoying as it potentially would of lead to my domain names expiring!

During the process of trying to sort this out the expiry date came and went fortunately they domains renewed, stage one of worry over for now. Really annoyed however that BT at no point communicated with me regarding this.

Tried online chat who referred me to telephone support, a large amount of time on the telephone later over several calls and a week or so, one individual managed to make a small amount of progress, nice chap but in the end ineffectual!

Managed to get into some email correspondence with a support person again over a considerable amount of time, again nice chap but in the end ineffectual!

So situation is this I log into my account in the billing section it informs me that to access billing information and direct debit set up I need to add an account. (odd as I would appear to be logged into an account)  I try to add my account using the account number, which is not recognised.

The people from BT that I have communicated with agree that it seems to be odd.

I have two domains registered a .co.uk and .com and have advanced hosting none of which after today I am paying for as the original amount I payed ran out today after 2 years.

All I want is for my online account to work properly so I can set up a direct debit and carry on.

If I have to resort to doing this on the phone I will probably go elsewhere for my hosting!

Dead easy to move. Depending on your web programming skill level I could recommend some that are excellent. (no connection other than a satisfied customer). Message me if you want a few.

I apologize if this is a simple question but what is it with phone support that you don't like? Since you'll get answers right away or you can ask to be transferred if the rep won't be able o help you out. Smiley Indifferent

I agree. Sometimes, if you really lack a lot of computer skills including programming and anything else related to it, you will surely lose a lot of interest in certain things like these.

Coding in almost any language , no problem.

Building websites no problem.

Using other hosting companies no problem.

Using a telephone no problem.

All things I do pretty much all day long.

Getting through the BT support system to someone who actually understands a technical issue, some what more problematic!

Just want a BT employee to take on my issue and run with it until its properly resolved.

Hi Clasroompixie,

Sorry to hear you are still having these ongoing issues.

I can confirm I am still looking into this case with our billing team, however there are some delays with this at the moment.

I will send a further email today just to confirm this.

Kind Regards,

Did you get it sorted? I know how you feel. I purchased two BT Web Hosting Starter Packs. One on the 21/12/2009 and one, more recently, on 22/01/2013.

I paid the initial payment of £35.88 (ex vat) for my first purchase, covering the first 2 years (I think). I have not received any further payment request nor been able to make any payments despite many attempts to get the payments sorted out. Nor can I access any BT account under the account number I was given. My second purchase i paid the first months £5.00 and believed i had set up a regular monthly payments to avoid the none payment problem but the only payment taken out of any of my accounts is the first £5.00 Nothing more.

I am able to access both my web sites via BT easy wizard pro and amend them, put new photos in etc. and I use my email account with no problem, however both my business's rely on the web sites hosted by BT and I am worried they will be cut off with no warning just because no one at BT will take responsibility for my problem. I just want to pay what I owe. I am now truly at my wits end. None of the help lines are helping. I just keep getting sent around in circles.
