Max fibre configured speed 18000?

Since I have been connected to Infinity last Monday I have noticed that my speed varies from 36000 peak to about 11000 or average 17000.  I tried the BT speed checker and got this:

IP Profile for your line is -18352 Kbps

> Download speedachieved during the test was - 16841 Kbps

For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 16000-18352 Kbps .
 Additional Information:

Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 10000 Kbps

>Upload speed achieved during the test was - 8150 Kbps
 Additional Information:

Why is my line profile 18352?  Can I get it raised?

Ok well over the 10 days training period and the speed is not the 30+ I was expecting 😞

I guess I will need to call support to discuss what to do.

Phoned support, I thought the stabilisation was 10 days but is is 14 days. Speed is now 17462, someone will call me early next week to resolve hopefully.

It will depend on how far you are from the cabinet and teh amount of noise created locally.

If te underground cables go anywhere near an industrial site then there will be more noise resulting in a lower sync, if the line is long the same will occur.

When the Technician arrives get him to connect his test equipment and tell you what the sync speeds are that he gets and also what the line length is.

Hi,

I had an engnineer visit last week, the sync speed was 39/10 and I could download at 33-36.  The next day it went down to 33 and now ithe ip profile is at 24.

After a reset of the IP profile the speed is solid for 24hrs then it goes down to 20.

Is that normal?

The BT phone support which has been good as they always call me after a engineer visit said that if it goes below 30 call back, also a previous engineer said the same.  The last engineer said you are getting more than 16 so don't bother calling.

I had the modem changed 2 weeks ago as that was assumed to be the problem but it hasn't kept the speed stable.

I just checked Google maps for the length of cable from my place to cabinet is 0.3miles and from cabinet to exchange 0.7miles.  That is not too far is it?
