Move

I have been trying for weeks to move a business line to my new premises.

A few weeks, several excruciating phone calls and a dozen of BT operators later, I have managed to get an email from BT saying the job was completed, while it was not even started!

Does anyone has a postal address for BT to report this.

I have worked with several phone providers in the last decades and always though Talk Talk was the worst, until I met BT.

The most awful service in great contrast with the kindness of many of its operators - although most of them are quite useless apart from the ability to pass your call on to someone else.

Many thanks

I cant see how BT attract any customers. I tried to move a line for my business and the company is "incommunicado". Quite a strange situation for a communications company.

My current provider is talktalk- service great but they cant move the number as BT own it. So I must go to BT and ask them to move the connections.

Now folks, I am in business and I would have seen this as an opportunity to sell my service to the client. NOT BT! They dont need clients. In fact they dont want anyone talking to them. None of their business phone lines answer. I have waited 3 weeks and tried for upto 25 minutes at a time. Not a murmur from a real person.

However I have been able to contact their sales department who are even now trying to contact BT (not for) Business. So far "we" have been trying 15 minutes.

Dont try their "leave your number and we will contact you" service- they wont.

If anyone is successful in contacting BT or has been able to get their line moved please let me know how?

Nothing has obviously improved since 2011 as I am here in July 2012 and I cannot get my business line moved. All the operators (except one who cancelled 2 lines and my broadband as requested without problem) are pretty much useless. I am told they cannot even order a move of line until my broadband is disconnected form the line. They are disconnecting the broadband on the day I move so cannot order the line move until then and apparently it will then take 20 days before they can move it. How do I run my business with a phone for those 20 days ? Is there a claim for consequential loss ? Obviously nobody at BT has ever run their own business. Presumably they simply sit back and get paid at the end of every month.

Hi Bronco,

I've sent you a PM.

What are the things that you should consider before planning to move your phone line to a different home? Do you have to close your current line and then get a new one? For those who have already done this, what would be the best option available?
