Exactly correct on the 5 weeks. It could just be a new employee making a simle mistake tho. Have you tried calling the support to have this verified?
We had to relocate our business suddenly due to a fire. We needed a new phone line. On the 30/1/2012 we applied for a new business line. On 31/01/2012 our order was approved and our "possible new number was given as 01925 551945. BT came to install our line on 23/02/2012 on arrival they said they needed specialist equipment to install the line. BT re scheduled the line installation for 09/03/2012 on arrival the engineer explained the first engineers must be incompetent as we needed a new pole to be installed. A surveyor came the next day - now he has to send a report to instigate legal paper work to the site owners for a new pole, this paper work will possibly arrive around the 24/03/2012, once the paper work is returned the installation of a pole can be organized, then the line has to be installed, then the number connected in the exchange then it can all go live.
My business is run on streamline and internet. I have had to revert to paper vouchers and banking and a dongle. This is costing me money just as we are reaching our peak seasonI believe this is down to the monopoly that BT have on the line installation. I cannot advertise my new number I cannot give yellow pages or BT phone book confirmation of my new phone number, I cannot get my vehicles sign written, If anyone can get 01925 551945 up and running I would really appreciate it. "pigs might fly" comes to mind
