HI all
I've been given a range of 5 IP addresses from BT one of which I've assigned to my server but I can't get out to the internet on the server
Setting for my server:
IP = 81.138.148.yyy
subnet = 255.255.255.248
Gateway = 81.138.148.xxx
Hub/Router address = 81.138.148.xxx
Have I missed something on the server ? I've got DNS Setup on the inside and can get name resolution OK but I think somehow somewhere the hub address/gateway address is wrong?
Thanks
Lee
If i've checked the correct account, it looks like your router is connected on the default green-light@service.btblick.com username, can you go to Settings> Broadband> link Configuration and check what username is in the box? It needs to be the correct login details for the account the static IP's are on or they won't route.
Yes it has the green-light@service.btblick.com username in the box. Do I need to change that to the xxxx@hgx.btclick.com username we've been given?
If so, I don't have a password for it?
if you give the helpdesk a call on 0845 600 7020 they'll be able to provide you with your password once they confirm security with you. I'm certain that once you're connected on the right details your static IP's will work correctly.
OK many thanks - I'll get the boss to ring them now as he has all the security details I hope!
Thanks for your help - much appreciated
Hi There - OK I have my password but before I go ahead and change the username and password - what's the default password for green-light@service.btclick.com - is it blank or just BT ?
I don't really want to have to do a ful reset on this box if things get messed up 😉
Thanks
Lee
Unfortunately no one on the helpdesks are privvy to the password for the green-light username, you should be fine with your correct login details. I see no reason at all on the account why you won't get connected on those.. have faith! 😄
